RECREATIONAL SAFETY AROUND MORRO BAY

by
Curt Beebe, MD

This site is provided primarily for those unfamiliar with the area, so that they can learn quickly and safely from the experiences of others. Doctor Beebe has had an interest in preventive medicine since 1969, when he was appointed post preventive medicine officer at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Eventually becoming a psychiatrist, he retired to Morro Bay ten years ago.

Morro Bay is a lovely place, visited by about one million people a year. However, on average over the past 24 years, a person a year has died in recreational incidents.
